Company History

First Maintenance Company (FMC) of Oklahoma City was originally established in 1982 and was purchased by Robert Lewis in 1984.  After spending many years working in various positions within the industry, younger brother Christopher Lewis assumed the position of company president in 2007.  From the start, FMC has been an Oklahoma owned and operated business and has grown into one of the largest service contractors in the state.   

We work with commercial, medical, educational, and government facilities across Oklahoma.  We provide cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance services for more than 200 sites ranging from a few thousand square feet to several hundred thousand square feet.

The company cleans in excess of six million square feet of office, training, research, medical, school and government facilities in the State of Oklahoma. Project sizes range from a few thousand square feet to several hundred thousand square feet and are under the management of most of the major property management companies in the State of Oklahoma.

Meet the Team

Christopher Lewis, President

Chris began working at First Maintenance Company part-time in 1984. He spent those first few years washing windows and handling special projects. During his college years at the University of Oklahoma, he began managing a few accounts in Norman and cleaning buildings in downtown Oklahoma City. After college, Chris worked as an accountant outside of the company. In 1995, due the acquisition of a large account, he returned to become a full time Account Executive. In 2007, a short 23 years after washing his first window, Chris became president of the company. When he’s not helping our clients, you can find Chris behind the wheel or elbow deep in the engine of a race car or a boat. He and his wife, Tina, enjoy traveling, adventure, and family.

Nancy Pennell, Account Executive

Nancy is a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma and was a practicing attorney with the King & King Law Firm prior to coming to FMC in 2000. She started by working with First Maintenance Company to support the downtown business clients and now serves as Account Executive for those downtown locations as well as several others throughout the metro. Nancy loves spending time with her daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and very spoiled fur baby. She also enjoys skiing, tennis, and crossing new travel destinations off of her very long bucket list.

Nick Pennell, Account Executive

Nick began working with FMC while attending Oklahoma State University. After graduating from OSU in 2007, Nick moved to Breckenridge, CO, where he worked as the tennis pro at Keystone and then a landman traveling across the state of Colorado. He returned to Oklahoma and officially joined the First Maintenance account executive staff in November of 2016. Nick and his wife, Elizabeth, stay very busy raising two active boys and spending their free time biking, snow skiing, and enjoying live music events.

Eric Spring, Account Executive

Eric began working in the janitorial service industry in 1989 and actually started his own janitorial and floor service company in 1996. He became the First Maintenance project manager for the Downtown Clean Team in 2002 and then became an Account Executive in 2005. Outside of work, Eric is a member of Life Church, a regular volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and a soccer coach.

Brad Gibson, Account Executive

Brad spent the majority of the first 25 years of his career in leasing, maintenance, and property management working for companies both in and outside of Oklahoma. In 2006 First Maintenance recognized the value of all of that experience and offered Brad an opportunity to put it to use for First Maintenance which has been very fortunate for the company and our clients. Brad is a husband, father, and grandfather and will tell you very quickly how blessed he feels in those roles.

First Maintenance Company has more than 300 supervisors and service team members across the state of Oklahoma and our employee retention rate exceeds the industry average. All of our employees are bonded and insured, and are committed to providing you with excellent service.
