History
First Maintenance Company was started in Oklahoma City in 1982. The business
was originated by a family with more than 20 years' experience in building
services in Texas and Oklahoma. In March, 1984, the company was purchased
by Robert T. Lewis, II and Jay V. Wells.
The company was incorporated as an S-Corp in the State of Oklahoma. Robert
T. Lewis, II acquired 100% ownership in September, 1993, and from 1984
has personally operated the company.
Since its inception, the business has grown into one of the largest janitorial
contractors in Oklahoma. The company cleans in excess of 9 million square
feet of office, training, research, medical, school and government facilities
in the State of Oklahoma. Project sizes range from a few thousand to several
hundred thousand square feet and are under the management of most of the
major property management companies in the state.
One of the key strengths of First Maintenance Company is its involvement
of upper and middle management at the client's service level. An account
executive is assigned to each building and coordinates efforts between
tenants, building managers and cleaning personnel to promptly address problems
and special requests. In addition, personnel at the supervisor level or
above are equipped with mobile phones, pagers and are on a 24-hour answering
system to provide responsive service to customers.
First Maintenance has been fortunate to have provided services on a diverse
range of projects. These include several million+ Sq. Ft. projects, medical
centers, high rise offices and traditional complexes.
Currently, First Maintenance cleans over nine million square feet in the
Oklahoma City area and employs 400 people at its more than 50 job sites.
In 2007, First Maintenance in Oklahoma City had revenues in excess of seven
million dollars.
